Jarjara is a virtual laboratory for intercultural performance research. Through methods of Practice as Research (PaR). The lab centers its investigations on current and historical discourse into the theory and practice of South Asian aesthetics. The platform host a genuine, non-hierarchical encounter between scholar-practitioners from India and Western identified nations. It creates this encounter through a strategically co-designed ‘virtual’ platform between all research participants in order to preserve and increase awareness for South Asian performance praxis in its former and emerging modes of dissemination. Finally, the on-line lab is committed to confronting the problematics in ethnographic investigations by Western identified scholars while devising strategies that counter and mitigate acts of appropriation.
